I have a TP-Link Archer VR900 router and a TP-Link Archer T4UH (USB) adaptor connected to my desktop PC. The two are connected on the 5Ghz network. My problem is that my desktop will intermitently drop the network connection and after a brief delay (anywhere from a few seconds to about a minute) will reconnect again. If I try and force a reconnection, it will usually give me an error saying that I can't connect to this network.

I've just observed it dropping the connection now, and it appears that the signal quality goes from nearly full to 1 bar, then the connection drops, then it reconnects at a decent signal quality. Rinse and repeat.

I've tried removing and reinstalling the TP-Link drivers for the USB adaptor, but that hasn't helped.

Has anyone got any ideas what might be going on and how to fix it?

Many thanks

M

Interference? What's it like on the 2.4 GHz channels?

I've just switched over to the 2.4ghz network, and I'm still getting major lag from time to time in LoL, which I also get on the 5ghz band. My MacBook Pro doesn't have any of this lag when playing LoL on the same network.

I was just about to come on here and post something similar. I'm running the TP-Link WDN4800. My connection is dropping quite often too.

I'm running Windows 10, and my PC is the only software disconnecting.

Do you find it gets worse on LoL? Because that is when I most commonly see major ping spikes.

I get ping spikes in LoL where the ping will shoot up to a few hundred. Everything freezes for a second or two and then it suddenly unfreezes and I find I'm dead!

I'm running Windows 10. My OSX machine works fine. I do have Windows 10 on my Mac too, but I haven't tried playing LoL on that to see if it has the same problem as my desktop.

Yeah, I get this very often as of late. Strange though, as a month ago, my wireless settings were fine, and I didn't have any problems. Reinstalling League didn't fix anything. Tried a few different drivers too, but still nothing.

I have an older wireless N TPLink adaptor so I think I'll try that to see if it's my newer AC adaptor that's causing the problem or not.

I didn't have any problems with my old Sky router. It's since I've introduced the Archer VR900 I've had problems, but I also got a new USB adaptor for my computer, and my laptop works fine. So it's a bit of a puzzle.
