Computer keeps restarting......

recently done a fresh install of windows onto the parents computer ater a full reformat, install went fine, but once in windows after everything is updated it restarts straight away sometimes it will take a couple of minutes before it restarts.

this computer is now approaching 4/5 years old (xp2800 barton) any ideas why its starting to play up???

could be a problem occured when you installed the update, you could try going into safe mode and using system restore, if that doesnt work it could be a hardware fault, if its anything hardware id put money on the ram.

Im guessing software though, you could always do another fresh install

should have put the spec in really lol

hope its not the ram as it aint that old

My Computer - Properties - Advanced - Startup & Recovery - System Failure - Automatically Restart .... maybe?
