Haha, I will try it, just wanted to / want to check first what is the worst that can happen if the 250W isn't enough ... What will/can get damaged?

Worst is, no boot, or your problem will continue. Your reboots will cause more problems than no boot. It won't hurt to try it.

I will try it then.

Might be a little while as the spare (only) VGA cable is currently being borrowed so no point doing it yet if I can't test it

Are you saying get this because the 250W won't be suitable to replace the 305W?

Is 500W not a bit OTT? Or I'm guessing with this discount (and my free postage) it is more of a "Might as well get this one as it works out cheaper" case?

Sorry, should have said. If the other Psu is`nt up to the task, this would be a cheap alternative.

This happened to my system, Used to randomly switch off/reboot. I just upped the voltages on CPU & Ram & it hasn't happened since.
As you have a low power/cheapo PSU I'd blame that.

But it never used to do it for 10 years? Only started recently?

Mine didn't do it for about 2 year an all.

Not done it since which is all I care about.

How much do you up it by though? It is 10 years old, don't want to kill it haha
