Computer keeps shutting down, then turning back on

RMA does have to be unused or faulty.

Them cheap psus are probably cheaper to buy new, than pay postage fees for psu returns if not faulty.

Try the 250w psu !

Hmm okay

Haha, I will try it, just wanted to / want to check first what is the worst that can happen if the 250W isn't enough ... What will/can get damaged?

Worst is, no boot, or your problem will continue. Your reboots will cause more problems than no boot. It won't hurt to try it.

Okay thanks

I will try it then.

Might be a little while as the spare (only) VGA cable is currently being borrowed so no point doing it yet if I can't test it

Thanks (Y)

Hi,

Are you saying get this because the 250W won't be suitable to replace the 305W?

Is 500W not a bit OTT? Or I'm guessing with this discount (and my free postage) it is more of a "Might as well get this one as it works out cheaper" case?

Thamls

Sorry, should have said. If the other Psu is`nt up to the task, this would be a cheap alternative. :D

Great thanks! :D I will hopefully test it and work out if I need to buy it while the 'This Week Only Offer' is still on. They changed on Wednesdays, right?

This happened to my system, Used to randomly switch off/reboot. I just upped the voltages on CPU & Ram & it hasn't happened since.
As you have a low power/cheapo PSU I'd blame that.

But it never used to do it for 10 years? Only started recently?

Mine didn't do it for about 2 year an all. :p Not done it since which is all I care about.
