hope I can get some help with this problem as it's driving me nuts.

The PC tends to switch itself off when starting a game, or opening the TV card. It stays off for a couple of minutes and then switches itself back on, is it possessed, is there something I can load to see what is causing the problem?

Thanks in anticipation of some useful tips

mobo Abit AL8
P4 3gig
Seagate and Raptor on Sata
2gb Crucial RAM
Nvid 7900
Winfast TV card
Hiper PSU

You said it's a TV Card problem, so try taking that out.

Though, having looked at your specs, it could be the PSU. Hiper don't have the best reputation (though I'm using one atm ;)) and it seems that anything drawing power (TV, games etc) makes your PC reboot. It's a likely culprit.

thanks for the tip, I'm suspect about the PSU as the voltage control figs in the bios are moving up and down, checking another system they don't move half as much as they do on this system.

I'd be dissappointed with the Hyper if it is the cause, I thought I was buying a pretty good PSU, everyone was raving about them.

This wouldn't be a temperature or CPU fan issue? can I check it somehow?
