Got a i7 920 coupled with a Asus P6T motherboard, and for the past 6 hours its been locking up, either in game - Grid, BC2, BF2, Prototype, and when I'm doing nothing, so with just Itunes on, with skype and MSN.

I've run out of ideas why its not working, it won't even boot up now, and is crashing in the bios, displaying a time of 00:53:43 with the clock still working.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Full Spec is

i7 920 D0
Asus P6T motherboard
3GB Corsair XMS3 1600Mhz ram
2 120gb WD Caviar Black drives.
2 1TB WD Caviar Green Drives
Tagan 600W Psu
XFX 5850
Antec 900.

I'm almost certain it can't be a drive problem, as dirt and BC2 are running off different drives.

Tried running the memory at 800mhz, 1066mhz, 1333mhz and 1600mhz.
Tried turning turbo mode off didn't work
tried turning speedstep off didn't work.

Temperatures are cool, with nothing in there running above 45 degrees c. Hard drives are at 24 degrees C.

No errors in the system event log as well.

Yeah, its just the standard P6T. Bought a year ago. Still got 2 more years warrenty with them so I might just take it back tomorrow and get them to give me a replacement.

Is it a mobo problem then?

Mine is also about a year old - started locking up in BF BC 2 every few hours, and blue screening when any overclock is applied. Strange thing is, PC passes 8 hours of Prime95 blend and IBT on max. The only way I can stop the blue screens is to run at stock, but it still crashes in Bad Company 2. Memory is fine.

I'm not sure whether to return it or sell it on.... the problems have only been happening since I did a case swap.

Trouble is, mine isn't overclocked at all. Think this is going to have to go back.

I have a P6T SE - sort of similar :p

I had Blue Screens linked to ram, but no problems are found anywhere on the ram. My pc is about 5months old now, and this even happens in WoW if played on Ultra everything with say iTunes in the background.

This also only started happening as I have just done a case swap myself - very strange

Hmm, well its going to be RMA'D tomorrow. Will give me some time to actually do some work.

Well, its only locked up once today, and I actually managed to get in a good few hours of BC2 last night.

Really dislike intermittent faults, why can't something just break outright.

Aha, found out how to make it crash, with realativly no effot, leaving itunes on for around 3-5 mins seems to do the trick.

Mine can play iTunes for hours :)

Mind, when you turn the sound right up you hear a crackling and buzzing in the background, and it ain't my speakers :/
