Hey guys,

I've recently been having a problem where my computer will lock up after about 10 mins of being on. I'll be watching youtube, but then the video will stop, and then when i click on anything it all stops responding. I can't even open Task Manager. The weird thing is though, when i restart my computer, the problem seems to disappear. Now this is ok, but it's really annoying how it happens the first time i start my computer. I have to sit around waiting for it to freeze, so then i can restart it for it to work properly again.

I have a GTX 1070

Intel i7 4790K

Corsair Vengeance 16gig RAM

120gig + 60gig Kingston SSD (One for games, other for OS)

And a 1TB Seagate Hard drive.

Any ideas??

Thanks :)

Look in "windows logs" then "system" and scroll down to look for the red crosses. Also check "application". If you spot one at about the time you get the lock up, post the details.

however, hard locks are unlikely to be software but the above may give a clue to the underlying cause.

There's only 2 errors, around that time. They are -

Event ID 7006 - The ScRegSetValueExW call failed for FailureActions with the following error:
Access is denied.

Event ID 10016 - The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{8D8F4F83-3594-4F07-8369-FC3C3CAE4919}
and APPID
{F72671A9-012C-4725-9D2F-2A4D32D65169}
to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
