Computer lockup

I'm having some problems with my system locking up every now and then, usually only when I'm doing simple desktop work.

It's neither a heat nor a power problem, all my drivers and windows files are up to date and everything's plugged in securely.

All of a sudden my cursor will stop moving, then everything stops responding, ie, clock, LCD display on my G15 etc and I have to hit the reset button to get it working again. It's always fine after a reset.

Only happens once every week or 2, but it shouldn't really be happening at all.

Any suggestions?

Do you notice any patterns as to when the lockups occur? For example while or after using a particular application.

Mostly when using Firefox, but I've tried both the current and previous versions and it still does it.
