Computer Monitors which are as good as Apple Mac Monitors?

Hi all,

I don't own or never have owned any apple products. However, as I am a computer engineer sometimes I work on apple mac's etc. and am always quite impressed with their monitors. Very high resolution, very sharp and clear.

Are there any computer monitors which are as good?

I currently have an Asus 27" IPS panel which has a resolution of 1920x1080.
 
Where the likes of Acer and Asus fall down is quality. Remember that gamers are not Apple's target market, so the panels have different - better - specifications from gaming monitors. As you say, higher resolution is one and high ppi is another. Look at better manufacturers like Iiyama and also consider Dell's Ultrasharp and HP's EliteDisplay ranges.

Oh yes, be prepared to pay.
