Hi,

Got a bit of a weird problem. Basically when I turn the plug on and then go to power on the pc it does not turn on immediately. Instead I have to wait a couple of minutes before it powers on. It's like it needs "charging" before hand. When it is on everything works fine.

Bit stumped on this one, anyone know what it could be?

Power supply Corsair AX750w
motherboard asus palm
CPU i7 920
graphics card ati 6970

case Antec p183

Does this only happen immediately after turning it on at the wall? Say if you leave it on at the wall for a while before turning your pc on does it do the same?

I haven't fully tested it yet but as far as i'm away if it's left on enough at the wall it will power on without resistance

I haven't been able to test the power supply on anything else due to lack of resources. Case is falling apart a bit though with the front two usb's broken

ok took the case off pushed some cables in and the motherboard lights seem to turn on much faster now. The cables on the AX750 are rather stiff but it is a good power supply.

Just a thought, is it possible the problem is to do with the monitor rather than the PC? I have a similar problem where my PC runs ok when turned on but it takes a minute for my monitor to display anything. I just assumed it was a limitation of the VGA connection im using.

In the 2 minutes you're waiting for the PC is start are the fans spinning/HDD making any sound?

No it doesn't turn on no lights or anything then eventually the lights come on and everything functions ok. Hopefully it was just a loose cable and I had issues before with stiff cables and sockets with the AX750

Ok it's still doing it and i've checked all the connections and they seem ok.

Could it be a motherboard issue/capacitor? I hear no funny noises and everything works fine once it's "charged" up. Really werid issue
