Having a bit of a puzzle over a new build. So i swapped my case and cpu cooler for some new goodness.

Turned the PC on and the fans spin up but no signal is sent to the monitor. I checked the cpu was powered and it seems fine. What could be the causes of this?

I got a bit of thermal paste on the top of the cpu where there is some gold circle but cleaned it off. Would that cause problems.

Double check all power connection including the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power.

All memory in the correct slots and firmly in place also goes for any other expansion cards you may have present.

Try a CMOS reset, sometime this helps.

what parts? checked all your cables are fully seated? ram in right slots usually color coded use same colour slots for two sticks

cpu cooler isn't too tight?

yea checked the cpu power was connected. I have checked the memory as well. I am going to take it out tomorrow and reseat all the power cables to make sure they are going.

I got a corsair h100i cooler so i might try the old one tomorrow. Ordered a motherboard to check if it is a faulty board or cpu. Will DSR it back after checking.

Going to try a cmos reset, see if thats the problem

did you do a full cmos clear? leave the mb battery out a good 10 minutes then try

you didn't remove cpu or memory at all since moving to new case/cooler?

if you did visually inspect cpu socket for bent pins if not then leave it as it is and just try with one ram stick installed in any slot

sometimes even knocking the memory can cause it not to boot till you reseat it

What graphics card are you using ? have you tried booting without the card connected using the onboard to see if you get a signal to your monitor?
