OK first my specs
AMD 3700+
2GB Corsair Ram
Asus A8R-MVP
Geforce GTS 8800
Ive only ever worked with on board audio before so wasn't sure exactly how you installed this but I followed the instructions so a T and to be honest it's not so hard to insert a PCI card. Anyways I've tried this with XP - didn't work. Upgraded to Vista - didn't work. Now I'm back on a fresh install on XP and still wont work.
Nothing is popping up on windows saying that new hardware has been found and device manager is showing no hardware being found. I took a screen shot of the device manager with the card in and when I removed it, there was no difference - so obviously the computer is not recognizing it.
Anytime I run setup it is displaying the message "Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program. Setup will exit." This is the same message that appeared on Vista that is appearing on XP. There is a red light coming from the optical port on the card so it is obviously plugged in correctly as power is transferring to the card.
Ive disabled Audio is the BIOS and it has made no difference, one thing to note - the BIOS has not been updated but from reading other threads it has made no difference and seems to be conflict between the motherboard and the sound card.
Seriously, is there any hope on getting this to work. I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks.
