Computer not starting up

On the photo above, the ATX power lead plugs into the black four-pin socket at the top left, between the blue socket and blue heatsink.
Check the big power connector cables are properly seated too- the big hosepipe cable with the long black connectors, right side on the photo...

i tried fixing it but i didnt want to go further on my own so i called up someone to fix and they did it and it was exactly what i thought was worng i still payed 35 quid but in the end he showed me where the audio is meant to work and a few other things although it was quite a lot of money at least lots of things got done and i learnt a lot.

the problem was exactly what everyone on this thread was talking about however i was too nervous i would screw things up so i called someone up. thankyou all for the quick response to this thread

At least you got it working, you should watch videos on how to build a pc from scratch, there is tons on videos on youtube to show you what you have to do, from start to finish.

very true. I had a friend of mine build the pc for me however im still learning after coming to the forums over a year about computers. although i dont post much i read a lot about what you guys say on here. Im here to read and learn so it was a good experience but i wasnt comfortable on my own if something really did go bad because of how expensive i paid for this computer

Always best to work on an old computer first, i have took apart a lot in my time and rebuilt them from scratch, though i still sweat when putting my CPU in heh

Really? I've always messed about with PC's even as a young kid, however first system I built was mine, no sweat is broken tbh, I prefer installing AMD CPU's though as they're easier.
