Evening Guys,

Now my new build is a few days old and ive been happily installed Flight Sim X and lots of different adds ons for scenery and Planes Etc, around 20 in total. Today I start the game off and about 1 minute into it, it displays the message, ''Your system has ran out of available memory, please change your settings''

I was completely flabbergasted !! This machine should be an absoloute beast at playing this game, even in Ultra High settings !

Specs :

i5 3570k
Asus sabertooth z77
16 gb ram
GTX 670 YES 670 !
128 gb samsung 830 ssd
samsung 27inch 3d led 120 hz screen

What the hell is going on ? Please dont tell em ive spent 1500 quid for a machine that cant handle FSX !!!

Any ideas ?

Look here LINK for some help on this subject.

You may have to remove some of the add-ons. (Looking at it the 32bit nature of Flight Sim X limits it's use of RAM and Video RAM to 4gb the add ons push this over the 4gb limit no matter if you have 16gb, however l could be wrong)

Well thanks for posting that link ! Seems like FSX is a 32bit program so having lots of addons just eat into the 4GB max VRAM GRRRRRRR

This really surprises and annoys me ! Nothing can be done apart from reducing the sliders ..... such a shame

AFAIK a 32bit executable can only use 2GB RAM on most systems, its possible to compile them with certain flags which pushes it upto about 3GB but not sure if FSX has been compiled this way or not.

Bit suprised MS hasn't released a 64bit executable for the game by now.
