Computer Randomly Turning Off

I've posted a few threads about this in the past, and have been told that the problem could be either RAM or PSU. Since I haven't been able to afford either I haven't actually checked properly, however.

I have a PC and it seems to turn off sometimes. Normally this is during playing games or something similar. It can browse the internet fine but flash games also seem to cause this problem. I think it could well be something to do with the PSU. I have taken each stick of RAM out and tested it in turn and the problem remains, regardless of which RAM is used. There is no BSOD, and the computer turns on fine immediatly afterwards.

I don't really want to have to fork out money on a new Power Supply Unit when I don't absolutely need to so if anyone has any ideas on what the problem could be then please point it out :)

The computer consists of
CPU: Intel Pentium E2220 (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-190-IN&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=)

Mobo: ... (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-144-GI)

PSU: Superb GE-R460-V1, not sure whether I can link to it as its not on OCUK anymore :/

It has Buffalo Value 1gb RAMx2 and an 8800GT. Im also using a G15 keyboard off it, too.

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks

mind telling us the voltage of your PSU and the AMPS it gives on the 12V rails, also have you overclocked your CPU?

Sounds like its your PSU though, cause when you play games volts are pumped into the GPU etc and its probably not enough and crashes out.

if its happening during gaming it sounds like gfx card overheating and shutting down to protect itself, fire up gpu-z and log to file the readings, when it next happens check the log - dont forget to check the temps across to the right DISPIO, MEMIO etc

My first thought was that it couldn't provide enough power to the graphics card but then I got furmark and it was able to run it for a lot longer than it is able to run most games.

Unless the problem is only noticable when both CPU and Graphics Card require a lot of power at the same time

Oh and I don't think there are any overclocks. I had another 8800GT and then swapped it with my friend because mine had a bigger fan and thus, was quieter. Unless his overclocks have been saved on the graphics card, but i was under the impression they were saved onto the computer.

The PSU is stock, as it arrived.

The last PSU I had came with the case and exploded so it wasn't even a particularly old PSU when the problem started occuring.

The problem started happening when I put in the graphics card, mobo, proc and PSU, too.

Computer just turned off while Rivatuner was doing some database thing. It wouldnt turn on properly immediatly after, either.

It got to the windows logo where the small bar scrolls along (XP) and then it just turned off three times in a row :(

Thought i'd bump this thread instead of starting a new one.
Is there any way I can check whether or not the problem is caused by CPU or mobo? I have tried furmark, which causes the computer to turn off, and I have also tried ORTHOS which does the same. This happens with both an 8800GT and 8500GT
What would be a good PSU to get that will quite easily be able to power everything in my computer that isn't hugely expensive. I'm not bothered about quiet or anything like that, I just want one that is reliable. Won't be upgrading since I've given the computer to my mum so I think it will be staying the way it is for a long time.
