Computer randomly turning off?

I recently installed Windows 8 to give it a go, but had issues with sound drivers so decided to revert back to Windows 7.

I installed Windows 7, downloaded the latest drivers for my motherboard and devices online. However periodically the system just turns off. No warning, no BSOD, no proper shutdown procedure. Almost like the power has been turned off. Then after a few moments it turns back on.

I've been trying for a few days to fix it but no luck.

My specs are:

750W PSU
Gigabyte P8Z68-V motherboard(latest BIOS, i've set it to defaults, no OC)
64GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD(I updated the firmware a few months back)
1TB Hard Drive
Gigabyte 7950 3GB GPU(latest drivers)
Windows 7 64-Bit
Asus Xonar D2X PCI-e soundcard(using Unified 1.61 drivers as standard ones are unstable in BF2/3)
8GB Corsair XMX RAM, 1600Mhz, 2 x 4

I've tried:

Restoring Windows multiple times
Installing drivers from disks as well as retrying from online, including both the JMicron JMB36X driver and Marvell driver for the SSD. Plus Intel IRST + MEI
ATX reset
Resetting BIOS
Performing all Windows updates

Edit: Temps are also fine, the shut downs are even at idle when mobo temps hover around 29oC and CPU around 31oC. The Mobo memtest shows the RAM as fine too. I've also tried the soundcard in another PCI-E slot in case that made any difference as it is in a 8x slot, but it made no difference

Although i've reset the bios, i've set it to AHCI and Hot Plug for the SATA port, both of these are to stop issues with the SSD.

I'm really at my wits end. I don't think it is a hardware issue as it only started since trying Windows 8 and switching back(i did do a full format of the drive each time)

The lack of detailed info suggests this is a cheap generic PSU? That would be the first thing to check/replace.

It is a cooler master PSU, i got it second hand a few years ago to replace a Jeantech PSU.

I did wonder if it was the PSU, but it is odd the problem only started when I installed/reinstalled the OS. But not sure. Sadly i cannot afford to replace it to try and resolve the issue if it is power related

Sorry to double post. But in case anyone comes on here with a similar problem:

I've uninstalled my soundcard drivers(as my soundcard has given me issues before) and so far the machine has been on for 2 hours without rebooting. i'll leave it for another hour and if it is still stable then the soundcard/sound drivers appear to be the culprit

For anyone who comes across this issue:

I've installed the default Asus D2X drivers(rather than the Unified ones) and the computer is running fine again. No random turn offs for the passed 6 hours
