Been having this problem with my new set up. When i shutdown the computer powers down then instantly boots up again.

Occasionally it will actually stay turned off but it is a very rare.

If i shutdown and hold the power button on my case it will stop it rebooting but theres obviously something wrong. The case is an Antec P280 and has been used in a previous build without any issues.

Intel I7 6700K
Asus Z170 pro gaming motherboard
16 Gb Corsair ram
Samsung Evo SSD
EVGA 980 sc
Windows 10 Pro

Motherboard is using latest Bios.

Could it be Windows related?

I had a similar issue once with Vista before upgrading to Windows 8. I had them both on duel boot for a while whilst I copied all my files over etc. If I boot into Vista, it would not shutdown properly, it would restart. However, booting into Windows 8 and shutting down it would shutdown fine every time. Very odd.

Ive checked the pins a while back and couldtn see any issue, i was thinking it might be windows causing the problem. I do know windows ten had an issue with this happening in a build before general release.
There is also a mild over clock to 4400 which is stable, temps 27c-67c

Well i opened up my case again this morning after checking my case manual online which i didnt do at the time of building..
Turns out i had the power switch header reversed. I had originally ruled it out because... well it booted!
Turned it around today and so far it shuts down properly. Just goes to show!
Thanks for the help guys, a little prompting in the right direction finally sorted it out. :)
