Check the voltages on the southbridge. Seems a bit weird why that would happen as that board seems to have quite a good cooling solution. You changed anything to do with case airflow?

If volts are ok, reset CMOS or reload default settings.

If still an issue id take that heat sink off and past the SB chip and see if it does it. How long have you had the board?

Well the course of the morning the restarts got more freaquent due to overheaing, i noticed before things went kaput that the 1900's (2x cards) were at 60c. So i took them out gave em a clean etc tried them both seprate and same thing happen overheat on south bridge.

So i took the whole thing appart just incase some cables or heatsink was loose. Checked CPU all fine (new paste) & i used the default stock fan that came with it as i had an arctic cooler on it before.

Put it all back together. Installed 1 ati card. Same thing happen. Now i power up it starts for 4 sec then shuts down agian

i don't have any spares what so ever

on lappy atm

Uh oh, sounds like a dead board to me. If its doing that within 4 seconds its gotta be. You got your warrenty on it still?

You tried changing your ram modules around? sometimes they mess things up. I've seen some really weird issues before.

yeah i've tried diff memory modules too i get the same thing

i bought the motherboard from ocuk in

think it will be out of warrenty now :(

suprised its gone dead in 3 years

does anyone else think its the motherboard?

I thought the asus board came with 3yrs warranty. If that the case you still got some warranty time left ?

^ i have no idea about the warrenty ill have to take a look!

Before i got the system above i had a socket 939 motherboard and that suddenly went also with the same symptoms. I think my graphics cards are owning my motherboards...

Can anyone spec me a new motherboard that i can use with the components i have already

Thanks
