Hey guys,

So I went to sleep today and wake up and there she blows!

My computer was just restarting itself and failing to boot even 3 seconds.

It would restart, fail to post and all you would hear is the fans spool up then it would do it again. I turned it off at mains then turned it on and it still did this a few times.

I checked to make sure none of the boards on the case or motherboard were somehow stuck? why would they be? but check anyway I did.

I then removed the ram sticks and did restarts etc graphics card aswell. It booted the moment I removed the card after which I reconnected the card back to the psu and booted into windows but something does not feel right It was twitchy.

I cant even figure out what in gods name would cause this to be honest and I dont know how it even into that cold boot loop.

Any ideas lads?

Is this what happens?

Yes exactly that, however mine would do it much faster.

It is fine now but I have no idea what caused it and honestly dont know what I did to fix it other then removing things to see what was making it cold start.

The graphics card being removed alowed it to boot to bios then I restarted with it back in and there was no problem.

Its really odd.

If it happens in the future, reset bios, take cmos battery out for 1 min then put back in and boot. This usually did it for me. if it happens more frequently then you will need to RMA the motherboard.

Aye I hope that it does not, I already went thru rma nightmare with the mobo and graphics card which was finally resolved after 5 months last month lol.

Why is it when we pay for things these days we always seem to have some kind of problem \o/.

Its unsettling not knowing what caused it as I doubt it was the card but unplugging it and putting it back in stopped the problem :\.

I had this problem on a few gigabyte boards, it was very bizarre. Haven't experienced on other brands yet and you have a gigabyte board too but mine was only isolated to socket 775 boards and that was few years back.

Hope it was a one off for you.
