Hi Guys
I built my stepson a pc back in April, all has been working well since then. However in the last week of so he's complained that its randomly been restarting.
I've tried looking at it but it seems that sometimes it will restart just before it loads into Windows, sometimes it will load into windows for 5 minutes or so and sometimes it will just restart about 3second after turning on.
The problem seems to be getting steadily worse and i'm not really sire what the problem is. I'm ruling out temperature as it seems to sometimes happen straight after turning on from cold. Other times when its restarted i've looked in the bios and the temp is generally in the 50's.
Could it be the ram or the motherboard going faulty? I'd assume that the GFX card wouldnt cause random restarts like this?
Power rails look to be ok when i checked them also (although not fantastic!)
Whats the best approach to start testing?
Specs are
I3 540
Asus P7H55
Sapphire 5830 (ithink)
WD Caviar Blue 500gb HD
Windows 7 HP
