Morning all, as I'm quite tall and suffered back problems I'm having a custom desk built out of kitchen units and work tops so I can have it at the height I need but also with plenty of work space and storage.

Anyway my main issue is getting power under the desk as the position its going it doesn't have a wall socket.

I'm I safe using a 8 way extension cable? or would I be best having 4 double wall sockets fitted under the desk?

I wanted something like an office with plenty sockets

Thanks

What are the amps of the appliances your running? If it's mainly small devices such as individual transformers you should be ok. However if total load is approaching 13amp your best using multiple sockets or multiple extension cables.

Re the the cheap integrated surge protector plugs, some of the really cheap ones have been known to catch fire. If your worried about something overloading or shorting your far better with an RCD trip plug.

I got a desk from a 2nd hand store but it turned out its a good one from ikea it can be raised as im 6ft 2 so i like the extra height it gave. Maybe check out some of the desks at ikea that raises?
