Hi,
Recently my pc has been running far too quickly. All of my games run at double speed its really frustrating! It gets solved by a restart some times but even that has started to fail me!
Anyone else had this problem?
System Spec?
Are you Overclocking at all?
Ooops yep the whole system spec:
Its an Dell Dimension 9150
Intel Pentium D 3.00 GHz
1024MB RAM
Radeon X600 (256Mb)(Omega 3.8.291 drivers)
Windows XP SP2 / DX 9.0c
(If you need any more info please do ask!)
The game im really having a bit of a head bashing session over at the moment is GTA:SA. The clock runs about 3 times too fast and the entire world seems to move at that speed too! Most frustrating. A restart used to fix it until this morning when no matter what it just keeps going like the clappers!!!
Thanks in advance.
There is a cheat that makes the clock run fast. Have you entered any cheats?
Nope!
GTA-VC was running too fast for me too. Turns out it's because I have a dual-core processor and the game doesn't like it very much. I installed AMDs dual-core optimiser and the problem was solved. Not entirely sure if Intel has a similar solution.
This is normally the fault of SpeedStep (or Cool 'n' Quiet on AMD systems). Disable that in the BIOS and the chances are this will go away. I'm sure there's an easier way, but I don't suffer from this any more, so I've never looked into it.
Do people read posts? I did say SpeedStep (the Intel version) and just listed Cool 'n' Quiet for the sake of people using the search function. And im running an Intel system!
