Computer science final year project idea expansion...

I was thinking of creating a network/ server situation in packet tracer (network simulator) and was wondering if anybody could help me expand upon this idea. I still have up to October to decide what I want to do but some help would be much appreciated

What areas of computer science do you enjoy?

I want to apply machine learning to engineering design, that's probably close enough to compsci to qualify.

I like networking, servers, security. Techy stuff, not sitting behind a computer for hours banging out lines of code (except if its router/ switch programming).

GNS3 Virtual Box edition might be better than PT as you can add virtual servers to your network.
