Hi, I've recently run into a problem:(, my computer shuts off a few seconds after launching a game, it's recently been able to play games fine with the stock cooler without shutting down so I don't think it's a heating issue.

Whenever I go into a map on a game, the game lags and isn't as smooth as it should be.

I've also downloaded a CPU temp check program called psensor, and when I was in a game, it measures all the core temperatures at an avg 99.C, but my CPU and GPU temperature is usually at 50.C.

I would appreciate any help on how I could fix this.

99 degrees is waay too hot. Is the cooler on right?

Can you list the rest of the components too?

Use hwmonitor for temps too.

Hi, here are my computer specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 2.50ghz
8GB RAM
NVIDIA Geforce GT630 ASUS 2GB Edition
Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 1TB Hard Drive
Corsair CX430 430w PSU

Also I'm running Ubuntu so I can't use hwmonitor unless there is some other way to get it to work

you need to list your pc parts so we can help you better,i know the z97 motherboards shipped with bios's that overvolted the cpu more than needed resulting in much higher temps

flash to latest motherboard bios if you havn't already, also a manual cpu voltage will be better than auto nine times out of ten, even at stock clocks
