Can anyone help me with this?

I have a 3770K, asus p8z77v pro with 2 x 290s and a seasonic 1050w psu.

When the pc is on, all's fine, this evening for instance I did around 2 hours of gaming, switched the PC off, and i have now just gone to switch it back on again and it's dead, i can see the MB lights on but the on switch does nothing. It keeps doing this, I usually have to leave it disconnected from the mains for about a day before it will switch on again, then it will go happily switch on/off several times but then randomly refuse to come back on again.

Sorta sounds like a power supply issue to me, but hard to say based on your current power supply, as they are a good quality brand.

Could be down to a number of things, Try a different power cable - Maybe the cable is faulty or isnt plugged in properly. Also does it turn on from the motherboard On button? Could be a short on the front switch or not pushed into the board all the way. I hope you get it sorted mate.

How much ram are you running? And have you flashed to latest mb BIOS?

16 gigs, 2 x 8 gigs, I've tried taking the ram out when the problem occurs and it still won't power up. I haven't flashed it to the lastest bios but I'll give it a try.

That's what I was thinking, confusing thing is when it's on it runs fine.

Thanks. I removed the asus q connector and tried shorting it out with a screwdriver , still wouldn't come on. All last night it wouldn't come on but this morning however it came straight on like I knew it would after being left disconnected.

I have a spare everything, mb, cpu, ram, psu ( all be it an ocz one) I might start stripping it down to see what the problem is. It's all watercooled however which will be a pain. Thanks for the replies all.

Just to update this thread, it turns out that it was my PSU at fault and I had the same experience as implosiveturnip RMA'ing it, it took less than a week from me first raising the RMA to having a brand new replacement delivered.
