Need a black and white computer spec for my brother, wants a 980ti in it (maybe sli?) with a lot of storage space (hes getting into steaming and video making so hardware has to also suit that! He also wants his soundcard in it - Creative zXr is what I believe it to be. Budget for this build is apparently whatever will get the job done for him to the best possible standard, whatever that means:rolleyes: I dont know how much gaming/streaming/video making computers are worth so Im gonna slap a price tag in the region of about 2500.

On a side note for myself, would anyone be able to recommend a top of the range gaming monitor (personal review of it please if you can)

£2700 is in the region of £2500 right ? :D

Onboard audio is very good these days, so you could drop the sound card.

The two EK White fans are replacements for the standard Black ones. They are optional as are the braided cables and LED strip.

I also wasn't sure if the EK cooler would fit in the Phanteks Luxe as it is about 68mm deep with fans, and the Luxe takes up to 65mm AFAIK before it meets the motherboard. The Primo has extra clearance at 70mm. You could possibly put it in the front of the Luxe.

Think his bro may already have the soundcard.

I don't video edit myself. But I've read that a rule of thumb for video editing is not to have the Media Cache on the same drive as the OS.

He can have a total of 11 drives (including the M.2) with that motherboard + case.

The 256GB M.2 SSD is for the editing software's Media Cache.

The 500GB SSD is for OS/Programs/Games.

2 x 2TB Seagates for Raw Footage/Scratch and Final Outputs (7200 RPM).

1 x 4TB Seagate for backup (5900 RPM - backup doesn't need to be as fast).

There are other storage setup solutions, possibly better ones, like having the Scratch on yet another separate SSD, so he should do his homework well on this aspect of the build, although it will obviously "work" with minimal drives if needed.
