Computer Startup - On-Off-On ?

Just turned my PC on and for some reason when you press the power button, it begins to start up with all the fans running etc, then after about 5 seconds it turns off. Then about 5 seconds later it turns itself on again and starts up fully.

It's doing this every time.

Don't worry about it, I get the same thing with my P5Q - Deluxe, it's a safety feature apparently.

I used to get this on my p5q deluxe as well, only when power was removed at the wall, the double boot is performed to check the memory strap settings.

Its not a fault, it's a built in test feature on asus boards.

Yes they told me it was a safety test feature which I shouldn't worry about when I contacted Asus support

I have had this on my current ASUS board (only after being turned off at the wall though) and my older BioStar board. I never questioned it as I presumed it was a safety feature of some kind.
