Computer stopped overclocking

After recently having problems with my computer and my BIOS resetting itself, I've had to keep changing the settings to overclock my i5 3570k to 4.2GHz. Now it's refusing to overclock! When I enter all the settings as usual and save & exit, my computer boots up fine but when I open system properties in "My Computer" It's only overclocked to 3.43GHz and will not go any higher.

Any ideas?

Hmm I remember trying to update the BIOS a while ago when I first got my computer and built it (it's only 4 months old) and it wouldn't work. Maybe one of the settings has just changed in the BIOS?

I'm on the edge of giving up on everything here.

I finally managed to fix the cores problem by going into MSCONFIG and selecting "Normal Boot" which brought back all 4 cores. Anyhow my computer failed to boot properly when I overclocked it again but now running back at 4.2GHz.

My Kave headset has stopped working as windows isn't detecting it and after a few reboots my PC fails to boot 100% all the time. Sometimes it hangs on the BIOS option and then switches off and after that reboots itself back into windows.

I'm running into problem after problem and I just do not know where to turn to as I built this computer myself and I'm no techy with all this stuff. I don't really want to take it to a computer technician as I've heard stories that they rip you off big time and with computers I can see why.

I will have a quick check in my BIOS. Just sent you a quick message via trust

Any ideas why my headphones have suddenly stopped working in Windows?
