Someone's already done that, added chips to the oil and cooked them, needless to say, the computer crashed :eek:

I don't get it; are the components actually submerged in the oil? Surely that would wreck the parts.

So is this basically just a case of sticking your PC in a vat of cooking/mineral oil? What about things like HDDs? Surely the oil would get in the way of the heads reading? And the fans will be under more stress on the PSU and GFX card as they are moving the oil around.

Very tempted to just do this with an old PC tho

think the point of oil cooling = no fans

EDIT: re HDD if you read article it says they didnt put HDD in oil

hdd's are air pressure sealed
