... I wasn't really sure where to put this, so I put it in here as it's part of a web-based asset management system I am writing...
Basically, how would you classify A monitor? How about a Cisco switch or a firewall?
I'll explain some more. My asset management system has "assets" in it. If it is a computer (a base station or laptop or server) then it goes into the computer asset's table (which contains more detailed specifications information) else it goes into a general "computer peripherals" table, which just contains it's serial no, supplier, etc....However, Computer and mice are peripherals (and we aren't tracking these), but a monitor or a Cisco router are not! How would you classify them?
Cheers for any input!
