So, my computer (Windows 10) is connected to my BT Hub 3 (connected to ?BT Infinity 2) via powerline ethernet, which has always worked flawlessly in the past. It also has a wireless adapter, which has always worked when I've tried it (i.e. before I got powerline).

Last night, I upgraded to Windows 10, and the computer remained on the internet through a couple of restarts etc. - no problems there

However, after a while it wouldn't connect to the internet - through both ethernet and wireless, the computer says 'connected' and 'internet access' as if everything were running normally - however google chrome won't load websites (This webpage is not available - ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT) and applications like Skype, Steam and Origin all complain about not having internet access

Everything else on the network works fine - another desktop connected via ethernet to the computer, and a laptop and a phone connected via wireless

I've tried the usual, turned everything off and on etc. but no joy

Thanks

Turns out it was 'stealth mode' in bitdefender's firewall - even their support suggests keeping it off, so I'm not sure why it was turned on - thanks for your help anyway
