So I press the button and the fans spin but there is no image.
I first get a double beep
Then 8 beeps in quick succession
Then a little pause
The 2 more beeps followed by a final beep.
I guess its futile I dont have any spare parts lying around anyway.
Though i guess it might be the gpu which has died or the psu is broken somewhat and doesnt send its power properly anymore since the system was in use and then suddenly the display went off and never returned.
It doesnt match any of those beeps either, it goes a double beep and then 8 beeps in quick succession then a little pause and then two beeps followed by one final beep.
Oh well i guess it doesnt matter thanks for the help anyway guys
It doesnt have any button to reset the CMOS but I might open it up and take the battery out tommorow if I have spare time and see if that does anything.
I thought that the beeps were very specific and thus the problem would be immediatly identified.
The thing is its a very old system and I have no spare parts so i cant really replace parts individually. But I will definitely try the battery thing.
And if it doesnt work oh well it served me well and guess its time for its ethernal rest.
