Ok, so the past two nights I have had my computer on S3 Sleep mode (since someone was upping it, and I thought I'd give it a go), there's only a slight problem, both nights my computer has turned itself back on between 04:00 and 05:00...So I'm wondering what could be causing it to turn back on? Moving the mouse doesn't bring the computer back on, only clicking a button, and I don't a fly or something that landed on my keyboard/mouse would cause it to come back on.

So...Any ideas?

(Or is it a ghost!? Lol).
 
Mine used to do that also for some weird reason. Maybe a program is forcing it on?

However, now my S3 Sleep mode doesn't work anymore =( It sucks.

Used to work in RTM, but in full retail it's broken somehow.
 
No the above people are all wrong...

Its the ghoasts of passed COD4 players trying to log on and send hate emails to IW...

either that or its a setting you've clicked on in hibernate panel. :eek:

I think the first one is more believable!

It could be bittorrent? Maybe? I'll put my computer to sleep tonight without any active programs.

Alright, did some search and found out my network card was "Allow this device to wake up the computer", I'm hoping its that, also found out how I can see what wakes it (powercfg -lastwake)

Some ISPs disconect for a second sometime after midnight to do some maintenance or something. it could possibly be that. so it could be your network card like you said waking up when it reconnects.
 
I had a similar problem of a PC refusing the sleep and turning its self back on within the first 5 minutes of going to sleep.

turns out it was to do with the windows power options for the USB port in my keyboard
 
mine did that as well.... are you using an Asus motherboard? if so, check that asus music alarm is not activated as that will boot up ur pc..... as mine did every tuesday till i worked it out.... if not, you know who to call... :o)
 
I have a problem where my Xbox 360 remote turns on my laptop, and also changes the display modes when I'm using my 360 to stream movies to.
