Computer turns on... and off... and on... etc

So, just what I wanted after moving house.

Plugged the PC in, it turns on, the hard drives all start to spin up, and then it turns off, waits 5 seconds, and does exactly the same again.

Stupidly. I left the PC to be packed and moved by the removals company.

Has anyone ever had this happen before? I've tried a different power lead and different plug socket, but don't have spare ram/psu's/anything like that anymore... anything else I can try before I start to cry?

If you haven't done so already get inside the PC and check all the connections - ideally unplug and reseat all of them.

Also make sure the motherboard is securely fitted to the risers and that there is no movement.

Check the HS on the CPU and reseat the memory also press firmly on the gfx card to ensure its securely fitted.

One of the top mounting screws had come loose, refitted and it now boots to windows and seems ... ok

Maybe its time I brought forward the purchase of the replacement...
