Hello,

Below my current system, it's getting a bit rusty so perhaps it's time for a little update ...

Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz
Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu
XFX 6800GT 256Mb
Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Abit IC7-Max3
OCZ 1Gb kit EL DDR pc-3200
2x WD Raptor 36.7GB S-ATA RAID0
Maxtor DiamondMax S-ATA 120GB
Plextor PX-708A
Plextor PX-116A
Antec TrueBlue 480

Is the selection below any good ?
I have no intent to overclock, just want a good system for gaming.
That is also about the amount I'm willing to spend.

Thank you.

I'm looking at the Enermax right now, that looks like a good choice ( hardocp review )
Would 525W be sufficient or should I go for 625W ?
525W will be sufficient. Those Enermax Modu PSU's can also go above and beyond their rated wattage, such as the 525W can operate at 600w from what I've read. But yeah, for that machine and even more things you'd be fine with the 525W model.

If it were me picking, I'd be picking the Enermax also.

Ok, thanks for your input.

However, I'm now tempted to get the 4870 instead of the 4850 since it's almost the same price and taken that I dont OC perhaps the toxic isn't the right card for me ?

Would a PCI 2.0 motherboard future proof it a little? I know the difference with a 4850 isn't much but if you plan on keeping it a while might be worth getting an x38? (Please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong!) as the ATI 5*** or whatever may need at and the rest of your spec i'd guess would cope.

As you say you're not planning on overclocking it, you could save some money going with the stock cooler rather than the £43 Noctua.

Just a thought............

Ok its final now, this is what I'll get ...

I have one more question now, since I have XP Pro OEM now, will I have get a new license or go Vista (what version?)

Thx!

You've only got a 120GB and the Raptors, not a lot of drive space in today's terms. Of course, if you're sure thats all you need, fair enough. I still question the choice to spend £30 on a pair of fans..

I made a mistake, I just ordered Noctua NF-S12 to place on the Accelero (the NF-P12 shouldn't have been there) and I'll use the stock CPU cooler.
