Hi, I am going to be upgrading my computer soon as it has recently stopped working and I might as well upgrade it since it was old and not really worth the repair bill.
I have been checking out products for a while and am trying to spend less then £300 on a motherboard, processor, aftermarket fan and ram. Now obviously I want the best combination, I already have a half decent graphics card which is PCI and I recently noticed the difference between my old IDE hard drive which I am going to have to get the information off some other way and buy a new SATA hard drive.
But I was hoping that someone here could help me straighten out my plans a little.

Here is what I have on my shopping list so far:

Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
£69.99
£82.24 inc VAT

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
£51.99
£61.09 inc VAT

I think these two are my staple buys unless anyone finds ones that are better.
And I was thinking either

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.20GHz (800FSB) - Retail

£76.99
£90.46 inc VAT

Or

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.33GHz (1333FSB) - Retail

£94.99
£111.61 inc VAT

And for these I was thinking of getting one of these

Zalman CNPS8000 CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

£24.99
£29.36 inc VAT

Which comes to either £263.15 or £284.30 depending on the processor you guys think is best to overclock with the equipment I just mentioned.

I am extremely grateful for all help, thanks in advance. =D

Becuase I am looking to overclock the processor as much as possible and I gather that the particular motherboard is very good for Overclocking with.. Unless I am wrong? Sorry, I am a bit inexperienced when it comes to this sort of thing.

Why did you choose the motherboard you chose?

I'd take this over that any day, mostly because of the improved motherboard.

Do you know if I will have the room in my MGE Viper gaming case for that CPU cooler?
