computer want boot.

Hi, built a computer in January and its been running fine until yesterday when I switched it on and after the BIOS screen it said "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press any key"

After a few restarts it started hanging on the Windows splash screen and then after a while it would show a BSOD bad_system_config_info stop: 0x00000074
Unable to dump physical memory with status 0xc000009c

After another restart it showed a different BSOD unmountable_boot_volume stop: 0x000000ED

I tried safe mode but that also shows BSOD

tried inserting Windows 7 disk and repair console but it hangs on searching for Windows installation.

I think its my harddrive failing or its failed

Computer spec is
Asus p8p67 pro
Samsung f3 1gb 7200
Gtx 580
Geil value RAM 8gb
i7 2600k

I would certianly download and run the Samsung Disk diagnostics tool from the Samsung website :

http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/downloads/support_in_es.html

This creates a live CD so windows insn't required.. Run this to verify your HDD is ok before continuing with your diagnosis.

Ok thanks but I will have to wait until tomorrow to use my friends pc to burn a disk.

Is there anything else I can try in the mean time?

Ok so tested the drive.
Random surface scan : error LBA 226710820, 226710821

Tried the test numerous times and each time it says the same. Will try to format the drive tomorrow if not its RMA time.

If it fails the test, then it's almost certainly RMA.. The manufacturer will perform the same test. Check the Samsung website for RMA details. It's normally just a case of entering the serial number and they'll issue an RMA number. HDD RMA packing is pretty stringent though.
