Computer Will Not boot, help!

My old hp computer turns on fine, goes to the bois screen but when it goes into the windows screen it restarts the computer.
So any ideas, sorry if it's short typing from the ps3, can't provide.

All help will be great.

Tried taking some ram out if you have more than 1 stick?
 
This happened to me a while ago.... on an old P4 system that I was using as a word processor..... turned out to be a corrupted registry so a fresh install of XP was needed.
