¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Computer is a c2d, e4300 running at 3GHz.

Motherboard = Gigabyte p965 DS3.

Now, when I try and boot from the USB HD, the machine resets before the HD spins up...

It then reboots at stock settings, only this time it does not reset before the HS boots, and then proceeds to boot? Very strange...

How can I fix this?

i've read about problems with USB work on some mobos when overclocked. try to upgrade BIOS, connect HDD at the rear USB posts, change Legacy USB option in BIOS

I thought legacy was for getting usb keyboards to function in bios, thats probably me only getting half the picture, sounds viable though!
