Computer Wont Boot or Go into Rec Console

Hi,

Tried to start my computer this morning only to be greeted by a blue screen of death and a restart no matter what option I selected, whether it be safe mode, last good config etc...

So I put in my Windows XP disk, pressed R for recov console, however it gets stuck on this command for hours
"Examining 152626 MB disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi..."

any ideas what could be wrong or how to fix it?

Hi,

Just wondering to create a MS DOS disk you just create a floppy at select create MS Dos bootable floppy dont you. As when I boot this it has the command
A:\

so I place in chkdsk C: \F but it says bad file name or something

Where am I going wrong here?

Where can I find chkdsk, I tried using the one found in /SYSTEM32/ but it wouldnt let me boot it, and one I downloaded from the internet said Different version of MS-DOS, could you please tell me which chkdsk to use?
