Hi, I'm Velo. I'm new. I have a ASUS P8H61- M/LE USB3 motherboard. When I first got it in March, I only had 1 stick of RAM that only worked on one channel(Channel_B) and not the other, at that time I thought I had to put my RAM in a certain channel which is Channel_B . Then Today, I got my Kingston 4GB 1333MHz 9-9-9-24-1T RAM today and I tried it with my other RAM which is a Wildstor 4GB 1333Mhz 9-9-9-9-24-1T RAM and the computer would turn on and everything with fans spinning but with a blank screen so then I tried both sticks of RAM seperatly in Channel_B, they work but when I tried both stick of ram seperatly in Channel_A, the computer won't boot. I only have 2 sockets to put the RAM in. What is going on? Should I RMA the motherboard, there is nothing in the manual about this. :S

Nope two single RAMs both different brands in two slots. but both same frequency and timings, it should work no?

I think he means are you trying to use different ram in different slots at the same time or are you asking why one type of ram won't work when the other does?

I'm trying to use the ram in different slots but I think the problem on why it isn't working is because of a faulty channel and nott because of brand mixing.

It is brand mixing. Different pieces of RAM are made by different companies. They are not inter compatible.

Sometimes different brands of RAM won't get on together but in many cases they will as long as they'll work at the same speed, timings and voltage.

Velo, what CPU cooler are you using?

Using the one that came with my Intel i3-2120

Could be a Ram voltage issue? Mixing ram provides a lot of issues, I'd never bother trying so much easier just to get 1 kit these days

Also another question, Why is it only that only one stick of ram only works on one channel?
