Amd64 3200+ winchester core.
Nvidia 6800gt.
1024 mb geil value 3200 400 ddr.
Epox nforce 3 mother board.
2 maxtor hard disks.
2 120mm fans one front one back.
A drive bay fan and one rear exhaust.
Antec sonata case.
All running on a antec true blue 480 watt power supply.
Recently my graphics card has been overheating so i removed it to remove the heat sink and re apply some new thermal paste. While doing this i noticed that my arctic freezer 64 was blowing directly on to the back of my graphics card. I removed the arctic freezer and replaced it with the cpu stock heat sink and fan. Other than this the only other thing i have done to my computer is install company of heroes and its expansion pack opposing fronts. While its a little demanding for my ageing computer, it's still well within the recommended specifications.
The changes i made to fans brought system temps down a little bit for everything and dramatically for my graphics card from around 75 to 55 idle. Starting early today my computer has turned its self off 3 times each time i could keep it on for no longer than around an hour and a half. At the last time of it turning off i have been unable to boot it up. There is power in the system because all fans are spinning. When i turn it on nothing shows on the screen and it remains in stand by mode. On the front of my case the power led is off and the hard disk led permanently on.
The only thing i have tried so far is clearing the cmos which didn't work. Any suggestions?
