Computer won't boot

Hi

My parents are having a problem with their computer. Basically they told me that it just shut down on them and then when it tries to boot it just gets to the startup screen (where you can enter the BIOS) and it just enters into the BIOS. I have tried booting from the Windows disc but it doesn't even go any further into the startup process, it just gets to the BIOS load screen and enters, you can't do anything else on the computer, you can't go into safe mode or anything, basically it doesn't work now.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I know this sounds obvious but is the keyboard ok? Ive seen people hit keyboards with anger (including me occasionally ) and break keys, is it possible del key is stuck down ? etc

Yeah, definitely check the keyboard. Sometimes a key will just get randomly stuck.

Try removing the keyboard and see if it boots.
