Hi there,

Literally just tried to turn on my computer as normal and it beeps 4 times and nothing happens on screen. The hard drive sounds normal but there is nothing displayed on the monitor. I've turned it off/on a few times and nothing happens!

Any idea what's happened? It was working fine about 3 hours ago :(

1. Try a different monitor
2. Check all cables are plugged in ok
3. Unplug power to machine, remove motherboard battery (little round one) for 5 mins, put it back in, plug power back in and try again

Sometimes it can be funny about some USB devices.

check your motherboard manual for what 4 beeps means

but if i recall 1 long and 3 short beeps? usually means a vga card issue. check video card is ok (no weird smells) and securely in place. my brother had the same issue a couple of weeks back. VGA card smelled burnt and needed to get a new one. that was 2 nvidia cards in 2 years :(

Monitor works fine with other devices. I've unplugged all the cables a few times and still I get the beeping noises.

1 long beep
3 short beeps

But now I'm getting another short beep after!?

It could be a VGA issue according to the manual but not 100% sure. Guess I'll have to take it to a computer store then ;\
