Hi guys,

Yesterday i left my computer on downloading a torrent in utorrent and set it to goto standby after the download was complete. This was the first time ive asked utorrent to put the computer into standby as ive always previously shut the computer down properly but slow boot times have been driving me mad so have started experimenting with standby

I came home from work and sure enough the computer was off, however i turned it on and its failing to POST. Fans spin, hdd's spin up, just nothing what so-ever displays on my monitor.

Ive cleared the cmos both by placing a jumper on the motherboard and removed the battery, ive also tried removing the ram. Still getting no joy whatso ever.

Any suggestions on how i can wake the sleeping dead?

System is -
Gigabyte GA-7n400 Pro 2
AMD 2500 Mobile OC'd to 2.2ghz
4x512mb Dual Channel ram
1x120gb SATA hdd.

Thanks in advance for your help, Russ

I actually had the same happen to me after I shut the system down (2500+ XP-M here too). I removed the 2 RAM sticks and booted with only one which it did without any problems. Then I put all of them back and it didn't POST again. So I was then basically putting one stick at a time and booting into Windows. All worked fine after I finally put the third stick in. No idea what that was about but it all works now.
