Computer won't power up

hi, i put together my own pc for first time a few days ago, decided the case wasn't big enough so got a new one. Iv just finished putting everything together and now all of a sudden iv got no power at all when i try and turn on my computer.

I hooked everything up the same way i did before but for some reason the computer won't turn on

any idea what it could be ?

Probabily not connected all the wires

pretty much 100% sure i have, did it exactly how i did it the previous time

ATX plugged in, ATX12v plugged in

all the front panel stuff such as Power etc plugged in to the correct places

im clueless as to what it could be

Is there a light on your mobo or graphics card when you attach the power cable?

nah, there is nothing. it's like its not receiving any electricity whatsoever

the power supply doesn't come on, literally nothing happens at all

Well theres not really much it can be, dead PSU, not connected the wires correctly or shorted something

switch on the back of the psu got switched off accidently and you havent thought boaut pressing it?

i'll be amazed if the psu has died, it's brand new and was working fine before i switched cases !

switch on back of psu is on

should the psu still power up even if the leads are not connected properly ?

i don't even know where to begin with working out what the problem is

you did use the spacers in your new case lol?

Try hotwiring the psu to see if it comes on, disconnect it from everything then

them, And if you do hotwire I would highly recommend you completly remove the PSU

erm iv not used any of them, iv got some though... wondered what they were for...

didnt use any on the last case, everything worked fine

so you screwed your motherboard directly to the metal of the case? in that case you have shorted it

and that means it's dead ? nothing i can do ?

i did exactly the same on the last case and it was fine :confused:

well take it all apart and put the spacers in and see if it works, fingers crossed time. I doubt it would have worked on the last case without spacers tho :S as on the back of your motherboard is bare metal, so all that touching the metal of the case = Short

take it all out, build it on a motherboard box or something.

it did work on the last case believe it or not !! had no problems whatsoever !

so let me get this correct. i screw the spacers into the case, place mobo over the top of them and then scew in the screws into the spacers. correct ?
