Computer wont reboot but will boot from a cold start

Hi. The story is, I installed nero7 and went to restart my comp to complete the installation. When my comp restarted it got as far as the bit just before the windows logo appears and then came up with the blue screen of death.

Anyway this happened a few times so I turned my comp off at the plug and left it for a bit and came back and it worked fine and has ever since when I switch the comp off and leave it off for a bit but still wont restart. I have tried a system restore and I am now thinking running my windows disk and doing a repair. Is this wise? and will it delete my files off of my comp?

Have you tried removing Nero when you're in Windows? And then trying? Obviously it's put something in the start up process that your PC doesn't like, and by removing the app you'll remove the start up entry.

If you leave the app and remove the entry you'll have software on your PC that isn't installed properly so just show Nero the door.
 
yeah tried that. I have just used the windows online solution checker and it blamed my ati drivers so i am downloading the latest ones. We shall see
