Computer wont shut down or restart.

Hey guys, I have an Asus Maximus VIII Ranger. This is the second one I've had. The first one had the same problem and would not shut down, also eventually it would not post or recognize any RAM. So I sent it back & got a new one.

Similar problems are cropping up with this one. Main problem is that I can't restart the computer. The fans just seem to keep going but my monitor loses signal. The same when I try and shut it down. This is awfully frustrating.

I should add, I have tested all other components on another board & cpu I have and everything works like normal.

What is the full spec of your PC?

Tried the latest bios?

Clear CMOS and load optimised defaults.

I have tried this already, still nothing unfortunately.

Have you tried putting it in sleep mode? and then turning it off at the mains when it is in sleep mode? If worst comes to worse you will have to switch it off at the mains until you can get a refund, I would definatly give asus a call though and tell them you are not happy.

I ain't tried that, I can see it getting old very fast though. I'll try calling ASUS tomorrow I guess.
