Bit of an odd one here. I've recently built a up a new rig. windows 7, i7 ivybridge etc etc.

Now when i go to switch the computer off, it shuts down windows, the monitor loses its signal, my usb bluetooth switches off, keyboard loses power but the fans in the computer keep running and there appears to be a light on the mobo still.

I have no idea what has caused this to happen though. Any thoughts?

Does the fans stop after a while? Might be a cooling feature to ensure the temps return to normal safe levels after the system's been turned off.

I'm not too sure cos when I've shut the pc down its either been before I go to bed so power down by holding down the power button, or like last night I left it running for a few minutes before powering down again via the power button before heading out to play 7s.

The spec of the system is

Corsair 600T (fans connected to chasis cpu on mobo)
128Gb Corsair M4 SSD
1Tb WD HDD
2Tb WD HDD
AsRock Extreme 6 z77 mobo
16Gb Ripjawz RAM
i7 3770k CPU
Corsair H80 cpu cooler
Gainward GTX580 Phantom GPU

I'll try bunging the thing off just now and leaving it to see if anything happens

It's an antec 1000w transferred from my old pc. Didn't have any problems shutting down with that one. 7mins and fans still going. Posting from phone.

Odd one this. I took the pc apart to make sure all the connections were ok, put it back together but didn't connect up my Spyder monitor calibration thingy since I haven't got round to installing the software yet and its managed to shutdown properly!
