Hey guys, I've run into a strange little problem ever since I shipped my PC from the UK to Germany.
(I dis-assembled the PC before shipping, obviously!)
Specs:
i7-3820
Asus P9x79 Pro
Sapphire ATI7950 OC
Corsair XMP3 3x2gb @ 1600mhz
OCZ Agility 3 120gb SSD
Corsair 850HX modular.
Win7 x64
The error I'm encountering is that when I select the "performance" setting in my bios which is basically like a power setting, "power save - Balanced - Performance"
After using my PC for over 5+hours and trying to shut it off it will be stuck on the "Shutting down" screen for up to 2hours before it will eventually bluescreen and reboot.
Should I shut the pc off by holding down the power button, during the next restart I will get an error message saying my "overclock has failed, press f1 to reconfigure your setup"
On rare occasions during the boot-up my GPU fans will spin up at maximum, I've done a stress test and checked the heat levels and it peaks at 57c without any problems. I've tried using older GPU drivers and the problem is still there.
The performance setting doesn't overclock anything as far as I know.
And I didn't get this issue before the move. That is the only problem I've encountered too though, whilst running, the PC works flawlessly.
I've tried flashing my bios and installing all the latest drivers to no avail.
So, what the heck is going on, any ideas? Why does Balanced work and not Performance.
The cpu and gpu temps never rise above 57 (cpu actually never goes above 50)
If there was a problem during my reassemble I don't think it would run at all, surely.
