Computer won't sleep

Can anyone tell me why my computer won't sleep. Whenever I click it, the computer goes into sleep mode for about a minute, then decides to come straight back out and turn on again. Anyone know any reason? I'm running windows 8.1 if that helps.

Don't let it have coffee after 8pm?

Have you tried unplugging the mouse and selecting Sleep using just the keyboard?
My first thought is that you're somehow moving the mouse, either yourself or through vibrations from generally moving around the room, knocking the desk, trains going by or somesuch. So while it goes through the sequence of entering Sleep mode, you're also bringing it straight out again.

Sometimes you don't even need to be moving the mouse keyboard, especially if they are wireless. You can change this from device manager by unticking 'allow this device to wake the computer'

Had this problem myself, still happens from time to time when i add/change something or install something anyway, this site helped me fix the problem. It should be the same for windows 8 i would have thought.

Stick some valium in the CD driver, that should sort it
